Can you post that order number here when you get the chance? I can click on other purchases and it downloads. It's giving us the error of "There's something not quite right in the URL. The issue appears to be that when the download button is clicked Etsy isn't directing the customers to the download, instead they are being directly to a dead link.

Great stuff, just excellent! Rabindranath Tagore Poems in Hindi. I never use Etsy and today learned something new. Thank you for sharing this. Hi, Thanks for sharing this blog with us, your blog contains very important information for us, I appreciate your work and effort.
I will be more than happy to explain how it works with Dropbox. You go to dropbox, upload the digital good, when the file has uploaded, create a link, and then share the link with the buyer. The buyer will click on the link and it takes them to a screen to download the file. This has happened on a few occasions, one in which the customer waited over 2 weeks. But I always convo a buyer after 1 week to remind them, and invite them to contact me if they're having problems.
What I'd like to be able to tell them is exactly how long they have to download the files they've purchased. In other words, does Etsy cause them to expire and be no longer available to the buyer at some point? Or never? If anyone knows for certain what the limit is, I'd be very happy to know. Translate to English There was a problem fetching the translation. All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic.
NanaLetha Community Maker. Re: How long do Digital Files remain available for download after purchase? Is there a way to list large digital files while still marking them as digital items? Etsy's instant download system limits file size to 20MB and my files are larger than that so they can't go through the instant download system. But as soon as I mark them as Digital items, which they are, Etsy doesn't let me complete the listing process unless I upload a file in the instant download system.
E-mailed files are not classed as a digital service, so should not have the tax added to them, and have to be listed as physical items. Digital services are taxed, and an instant download is considered a service, by etsy, as etsy provides the service of the download. If you sell a file which you e-mail, it is not a service , it is not instant, and there is manual intervention required, for you to send it.
A digital service where there is an action required in the "back office" to be completed is still considered a digital service. I think there is a confusion with Etsy's Instant download system and what a digital service is. The fact that Etsy doesn't choose to include larger files in the instant delivery system doesn't make them not fit in the digital services category legally.
I'm in Switzerland and the definition of what is taxed as online services is anything which doesn't require physical product to be sent.
All e-services that are electronically supplied in these ways are digital services. Another option is to upload the files to a cloud storage site, like FilesAnywhere, Dropbox, etc. That way, it's still an instant download and will require no action on your part once the order has been placed, and no delay for buyers.
If you choose to email anything to the buyer, the only way to do that on Etsy is to mark the item as "physical. Actually, that's not legal, to make etsy charge VAT, when the instant download is from elesewhere. CraftyCornishMaids I was expecting that response because this issue has been discussed in the forums before.
That is the service right there. Whether the file contains a pattern, an image, or a link doesn't seem to matter. It's an instant download, and that's all that's required for it to be legal. What is vat-able, is the service of an instant download file, of the item you have purchased, from etsy, that is why Esty charges the VAT. If what you have purchased, is not an instant download from Etsy , then you cannot tell Etsy to charge the VAT,.
If the item you have purchased, is not an instant download from Etsy, You then list it as a physical item, then either e-mail the file, or e-mail the link to the file, but you should not be forcing etsy to charge VAT on something which they are not providing, ie the service of the instant download of the item the person purchased.
